Capturing a once‑in‑a‑lifetime musical encounter
Quatuor Vestigio invited audiences to hear and see an intimate concert played on rare, antique instruments - timbres and visual details that rarely appear outside specialist collections. The event was organised with support from Nihonjinkai in Belgium and featured professional players, including a Japanese cellist. The objective was to document the performance with sensitivity and to produce assets that the quartet could use for promotion and archival purposes.

About the project
Minimal footprint, maximal fidelity
This project demanded discretion and deep respect for the music and instruments. Filmed as a single operator across performance and behind‑the‑scenes moments, the approach prioritised unobtrusive camera placement, careful listening for ambient acoustics, and visual choices that reveal the instruments’ age and texture - grain of wood, worn varnish, and the subtle gestures of the musicians.
Deliverables & client care
High‑resolution stills optimised for Instagram (portrait and square crops).
A short reel built around a piece of the quartet’s own music, tightly edited to emphasise musical phrasing and the instruments’ unique timbres.
A simple, hands‑on posting walkthrough delivered to the quartet’s lead member, plus ongoing availability for posting support.
Outcome & impact
The assets helped the quartet amplify the rarity of the instruments and the cultural value of the performance to audiences who cannot attend in person.
The reel’s bespoke music integration aligned audio and image in service of the quartet’s identity rather than as generic background - strengthening both promotional and archival value.
The client received a lightweight, high‑impact content package and a supportive handover so they could publish the material confidently.
In concluding
